One balmy summer day, I met Katie Wood, owner of Tabitha Kate, for the first time. Katie warmly welcomed me into her beautiful light and airy studio and kindly showed me around. I couldn’t hide my excitement. I’ve always been a stationery lover for as long as I remember. And there I was, surrounded by stationery everywhere and hanging out with this amazingly talented lady.
A spin-off from her previous brand Katie Sue Design Co, Tabitha Kate is focused on offering luxury wedding stationery for stylish couples. Katie and I had wonderful plans for her portrait and branding shoot. We wanted to really show the process behind the scenes. Clients don’t often see the steps before the finished products are delivered to them so it’s important to highlight those too. It’s so interesting to see the materials Katie uses in her Tabitha Kate work. She buys and stocks high-quality handmade paper, wax seals, and silk ribbons among others. Katie revealed that she only uses the finest materials of their kind to ensure that she delivers the best wedding stationery and goodies to her discerning clientele.
I’ve known Katie since I entered the wedding industry many years ago. Since then, her style has evolved many times over. She’s been featured in many prestigious publications and luxury websites including Vogue and Tatler. But one thing will always remain, her commitment to providing quality products and personal service to all her Tabitha Kate clients.
The shoot ended with us chatting over warm cups of hot chocolate and me admiring her beautiful work. I could stay in Katie’s studio forever and just marvel at all the work she’d created over the years. But alas it was time to go. We said our goodbyes and promised it won’t be the last time we’ll see each other.
