My friend Katie (of Tabitha Kate Paper) and I have talked about how much lockdown restrictions made us realise the things we take for granted. Time spent with family and loved ones, among other things. At the end of the day, it’s the simple moments spent with the people dearest to you that really matter.
Wynyard Hall Gardens
We brainstormed for potential places to have the shoot. Their own home was being renovated so we couldn’t use it. Our options? A beautiful stately home, a local park, or a flower-filled garden? Katie and her children love being around nature so the answer was quite clear. Wynyard Hall Gardens is also near their village. That made our decision an easy one. Its arboretum and gardens will provide a perfect backdrop for photos. Three thousand variants of David Austin roses, a scenic private estate, and a cosy cafe all in one place. Anyone who goes to Wynyard Hall gardens is surely going to have a good time. And that’s exactly what we I did one spring weekend.

There’s this famous quote from Andy Warhol that I really like. “The best thing about a picture is that it never changes, even when the people in it do.” This quote stays with me whenever I capture a wedding, a family, or special moments between people. I know Katie will treasure these photos more as her children grow. I can’t wait to look back and remember these memories with her many years from now.

Wynyard Hall gardens is located inside the Wynyard Hall private estate in Stockton-on-Tees, Billingham TS22 5NF. To get into the gardens, you must buy an annual pass either online or at the farmshop.
